Collection: Neurofibromatosis Fundraiser

We have partnered up with the Gadd family to help raise money for Hazel and all of the other NF families who want to live a happy, pain free life, like they all deserve. We will be donating a portion of sales to the Neurofibromatosis society of Ontario. They are a foundation that is trying to get a clinic within Canada for research purposes that will accept patients with NF as there are none right now or any doctors that specialize in it within our country.

NF is a genetic condition that affects the nervous system and causes tumors to grow. Although only 5% of these tumors develop into cancer, they can still lead to serious damage compressing organs and tissues.

NF may also cause learning disorders, bone abnormalities, change in skins appearance, loss of senses, cardiovascular problems and increases the risk of other cancers. 

At this time there is no cure for NF. The treatment that people with NF receive is focused on controlling their symptoms, they are offered chemotherapy, radiation and or surgery when possible.   

That's where we would like to help. We want to raise money that will go towards research efforts for doctors to better understand the condition find other treatment options, and raise awareness because it is the most under recognized, common genetic disorder.
